The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has released the list of 30 finalist vying for African Player of the year. They also included Super Eagles’ Victor Moses and William Troost-Ekong among 30 finalists for the 2017 CAF African Player of the Year Award. For the player of the year award meant for African players based in the continent, Junior Ajayi, who plays for Al Ahly football club of Egypt, is the only Nigerian on the list. The list released on Wednesday by CAF did not include current holder of the award, Algerian Riyad Marez. On the list are Senegal and Liverpool forward Sadio Mane, Gabonand Borussia Dortmund striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who won the award in 2015, Mohamed Salah (Egypt & Liverpool), Essam El Hadary (Egypt & Al Taawoun), Yacine Brahimi (Algeria & Porto) and Christian Bassogog (Cameroon & Henan Jianye). Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has broken the club's all-time scoring record, netting his 178th goal against Napoli in his team's 4-2 Champions League win on Wednesday. Aguero scored in the 69th minute in City's Group F match at the Stadio San Paolo in Naples, to go along with goals from Nicolas Otamendi, John Stones and Raheem Sterling to help Man City qualify for the round of 16. The Argentina international has now moved ahead of Eric Brook's all-time scoring tally. Brook played 453 games for City between 1928 and 1940 and led the club's scoring charts since overtaking Tom Johnson's total of 166. Brook's record- breaking effort came away to Bradford City in September 1938. A 14-year-old Russian model has died after suffering from "utter exhaustion" during a three month modeling assignment in China. Vlada Dzyuba collapsed and slipped into a coma after a grueling 12-hour fashion show in Shanghai. Sadly, she never regained consciousness and died two days later. She was found to be suffering from chronic meningitis. The teen was allegedly on a "slave labor" contract and had been too afraid to seek medical treatment when she got too sick.
